Domino has a place in companies that use Exchange too. ~Ben Brefanathernivu 15.Jan.03 01:46 PM a Web browser General All Releases; 6.0Windows 2000, Windows NT, Linux - RedHat
The last two companies I've worked for used Exchange/Outlook for mail and I successfully introduced Domino to handle all our web application needs including public web site and intranet with online timesheets, company directory, news, tracking and discussion databases.
To keep the costs down, I've opted to run everything to the browser. Only hard-core content creators (and myself) have Notes clients.
Most applications are fire and forget -- once up and running, the content creators run the show and I'm onto the next project.
Cost including single server hardware is easily under $10,000 (obviously not counting my salary) and we support over 1000 employees (remember no mail).
I do it all on my own -- from LotusScript agents to password resets.
Who says running Lotus Notes needs to be complicated and expensive?
